ADDITIONAL NOTES: This listed item is one of Johnny Griffin's early leader recordings along with Blue Note 1533 "Introducing Johnny Griffin". While being able to technically blow fast & dazzling bebop phrases (as listened in Blue Note 1559 "A Blowing Session"), he is good at playing ballads and can prudently improvise. Collecting songs of medium tempo, this listed LP shows us the latter face of a well known bop tenor saxophonist Johnny Griffin, and is also a good example of the better days of Chicago sound.
Recommended to those who love mainstream bop jazz!!
